Ex- Physician Charged with Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- physician has been charged with carrying out assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Details of the Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – including some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what police called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the forty-five charges include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
