The President Invites Loved Ones of Shot National Guard Soldiers to the Presidential Residence

President Donald Trump stated on the weekend that he has invited the loved ones of a National Guard member fatally shot last week to come to the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he spoke to her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Shooting

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a shooting on Wednesday in DC.

Her comrade, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in grave state.

Memorials across the state have been held in their remembrance.

White House Call

The president stated he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both soldiers of the West Virginia Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a difficult moment, arrive at the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” Trump told journalists. “And similarly with Andrew, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Reaction

Mourners assembled over the weekend at Webster County high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s national effort to assist law enforcement in Washington DC.

Remembering Beckstrom

“Sarah was the type of pupil that educators desired. She behaved with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged people around her,” Hankins, the principal of her previous school, informed the Associated Press. “She was caring, compassionate and always ready to support those in need.”

Memorial details for Sarah are in the process of planning.

Legal Measures and Government Changes

Officials have charged a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with one count of first-degree murder and charges of violent assault while carrying a weapon.

The tragedy caused the administration to suspend asylum processing and cease providing visas to possessors of Afghan passports.

Status of Wolfe

Wolfe, a resident of the city, started his military career in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, as reported by the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia leader the governor mentioned on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi told Fox News Sunday that she planned to meet with the family.

Impact of Beckstrom

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from her high school in 2023 and began her service not long after, serving as a military police officer with distinction, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had fortitude,” he informed the audience at the service. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
